Red Wine

Pinot Noir/Merlot, Anakena Ona 2005 - Chile
Intense cherry red in colour with complex aromas of dry figs, cherry and spice notes.  In the palate it is smooth, balanced and with a long finish.

Chianti, Gabbiano 2005/6 - Italy
Made in the traditional style, this Chianti exudes pleasant floral and herbal notes and aromas of spiced plum and dried fruit with a medium body.

Zinfandel, Jewel Collection 2006 - USA
Deeply coloured red, ripe and stylish and properly balanced by a hint of vanilla-ish American oak.  A rich red from the grape (Zinfandel) that America has made its own.

Shiraz/Cabernet, Premier Select 2007 - Australia
Trade (restaurant) label from Australia giant Lindemans, juicy and packed with spice and blackcurrant fruit flavours..

Pinot Noir, Marlborough Matua 2006 - New Zealand
Raspberry and cherry fruited Pinot from NZ's classic Marlborough region.  Cherry and berry fruits dominate the palate, making for a vivid, low tannin red.

Rioja Crianza, Vina Panceta 2004 - Spain
Spicy oak, plum and blueberry fruits dominate this classic, Spanish red.  Not a sipping Rioja, more a carnivores delight in terms of its food matching capabilities..

Malbec, Septima 2007 - Argentina
Dark oak aged red, intense with a gutsy, sweet fruit palate.  A superb example of the Malbec grape.
